Review of Sabotage (2014) by Dominic P — 03 Jan 2015
Writer/director David Ayer (Fury, Harsh Times) blends his realistic take on the police corruption thriller (see End of watch, Dark Blue, Street Kings) with the visceral over the top thrills of your average Arnold Schwarzenegger movie.
The result is an unbalanced fight fest that proves better then most of the Austrian Oaks 1999 onwards output but lacking when compared to Ayer's other work. Still, Arnie himself is a revelation and actors Joe Manganiello (Spider-Man) and Josh Holloway (TV's Lost, Intelligence) are unrecognisable in support roles amongst Sam Worthington (Man on a Ledge, Avatar, Terminator Salvation) and Terence Howard (Iron Man, Crash), all of whom deliver the goods as the cops and IA try figure out who in their group has crossed from cop to robber and stolen millions in cash.
