Review of Sabotage (2014) by Kevin R — 20 Jun 2015
"Is that a dick?".
"It's a self portrait.".
A DEA task force gets caught in the middle of an investigation of a missing $10 million dollars. Breacher, the leader of the group, stays in corporate and dishes it as well as he gets it. But he stays on the job. The remaining members hang out together like a family. Initially, they resent Breacher, but when he reunites to tell them they have a new assignment, they're all excited to get back to work. Cracks begin to form within the team quickly and people start dying or missing.
"It does kind of look like a dick.".
"The expert has spoken.".
David Ayer, director of Harsh Times, Street Kings, End of Watch, Fury, and the upcoming Suicide Squad, delivers Sabotage. The storyline for this picture is actually slightly better than you may anticipate. There are some well written and delivered twists and a better than anticipated script. The cast delivers their performances well and includes Arnold Schwartzenegger, Terrence Howard, Sam Worthington, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Vance, and Max Martini.
"Why is he so paranoid?".
"Maybe he doesn't want to get nailed to the ceiling.".
This was recently added to the Netflix queue and I decided it may be worth a viewing. This wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and was actually pretty entertaining. The action scenes are intense and some of the interactions between characters are funny. This is a nice addition to the genre and a must see for action movie junkies.
"I ain't sticking my dick anywhere your dick has been.".
Grade: C+.
