Review of Ryan's Daughter (1970) by Codie E — 02 Apr 2008
To be honest I was a little disappointed considering how high in regard I hold Lean, and specifically in this case working with such talent (Mitchum - when he can be bothered, Mills, Howard) and even though it is a very good film it left me wanting a bit more.
The heavy drama was off set sometimes by a badly matched score (Again a suprise considering Lean and Jarre's other partnerships) and some stalled acting.
