Review of RV (2006) by Roxanne R — 26 Dec 2010
Oh I have not laughed as hard in some time since I watched Planes, Tranes and Automobiles with Steve Martin and John Candy but this film rocks, its hilarious! Williams plays an overworked husband and father of two teens who decides to take his family to Hawaii on vacation.
However; when his boss tells him that he must attend an important meeting in Colorado to convince the clients that they should go national on sales or lose his job he gets desperate and takes matters into his own hands.
He rents an RV and convinces his family that they will bond during their time together in the RV because in Hawaii they would have done different activities that may kept them separate. Unknown to the family is that he chose Colorado for ulterior motives (the job meeting takes place there and somehow he is going to drive there and make it to the meeting without his family knowing about it).
. From the moment they get on the RV you can tell this is going to be the trip from hell..get ready for a bumpy ride and the Gornicke family played by Jeff Daniels and K Chenoweth were phenomenal..along the way they meet a bizarre group of RV campers but let me tell you the Gornicke family won me over from the get-go! Barry Sonnenfeld did an outstanding job directing this moving, hilarious comedy that along the way teaches you PLENTY about LIFE!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
