Review of Ruthless People (1986) by Mariann S — 27 Jul 2008
Ah, great stuff from the mid-80's. When Bill Pullman, Bette Midler, Helen Slater, and Judge Reinhold could legitimately be called Movie Stars, and not "Whatever happened to...?" entries. Great story.
DeVito wants to bump off his wife, Midler. She's conveniently kidnapped, so he decides to let them do their stuff. This being a comedy, the kidnappers are, of course, "comically" inept, and basically nice people.
For kidnappers. It probably hasn't aged well.
