Review of Ruthless People (1986) by Josh G — 07 Jan 2010
This Film is 80's Retro Comedy/Crime and is a classic for the Comedy genre!. The film is directed by David Zucker & Jim Abrahams which a comedy director legends and have a unquie talent to bring comedy element right out of the movie into the right spots.
This movie was on a budgets on $19 million (which was high in the late 80's) and grossed $ 103,100,293 worldwide box offices, which was a big hit and grossed twice as much as it budget, also having more on VHS and DVD Sales & Rentals. The movie was very positive on critics, audience and fans alike worldwide and been one of the best late 80's Retro comedy ever made and best film of 1986 (Year it came out), was also Distributed by Touchstone Films which was lucky to have a good film (I like tha company they make decent films).
This movie has very good sight gags, puns and jokes, while being Retro from the start and end of the movie, being fabouls, sexy and down right funny and making me laugh so hard with some bits. the film is very colurful, clever, retro & has a decent comedy/crime storyline/plot. A very funny, clever and sweet film and the ending was decent a nuff while Bette Mindler had truned sweet while finding out that her husband want here dead, while being kidnap as well.
The cast is decent with Danny DeVito, Bette Midler (one of her Ruthless, funny and Great Performance of her charcater in a comedy/crime movie), Judge Reinhold, Helen Slater, Anita Morris & Bill Pullman while beng all very funny and clever in the movie.
Overall a brilliant Comedy & Crime movie and one of the best Retro Late 80's (1986) movie ever made and of its decade (1980-1990). The movie speaks comedy Classic is a rightful owner to the Comey/crime genre and Bet 80's/1986 movies. Lv It!!!
