Review of Rust and Bone (2012) by M. K — 16 Jan 2013
Two great acts give way to a third that just sort of peters out without any real closure. A shame. Marion Cotillard is fantastic as always, playing an orca trainer who loses her legs in an accident during one of her shows, who then begins a relationship with a hunky streetfighter who may just be the world's worst father.
Disappointing ending aside, this is a powerful, gritty and very sexy look at finding love in the face of disability and economic hardship.
