Review of Rust and Bone (2012) by Ken L — 12 Jul 2014
This film had me looking at my watch after 15 minutes. It was one of the longest two hours I have suffered at the cinema, with a storyline and characters that stretched believability. I kept thinking of the more productive things I could be doing at home.
The only characters I had any sympathy for were the orca whales required to perform for an audience. The events surrounding the son's fall through the ice lacked credibility. Why didn't the father use the sled to whack into the ice rather than his fists? Dreary, dreary, dreary.
