This film is primarily for art lovers only. But if you like art this film is a gem. Sokurov, the director, used state of the art digital stream technology to film this 1 hr 36 min film in one take!! There are no edits of any kind and there was an inordinate amount of pre-planning to properly orchestrate the filming of 2,000+ actors, etc.
This film does come off like a very beautiful, slightly sad, very Russian, dream.
