Has it ever crossed your mind that you're far too young for me?

A great comedy about romance, that really isn't all that romantic...Or at least it's not really romantic in the mushy sense like most "romantic comedies" out there...But what else would you expect from Wes Anderson?

The Story: Max Fisher, a student at a snobby prep school, seems to have a hard time making friends his own age. He befriends a wealthy business man Herman Blume, and a teacher Rosmary Cross. Okay, so two male and one female, you might be able to figure it out from there...No, it's not like that, get your head out of the gutter, this is a clean film!...Max, falls in love with Miss. Cross and Herman Blume also falls for Miss. Cross. It turns into a battle of wits between Fisher and Blume as they both try to get her affection...Yeah, I know, it seems a little odd, a 15 year old student trying to get with a teacher...Okay, so this day and age I guess it doesn't really seem all that strange...But that's the story.

The Cast: Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray, Olivia Williams... As with other Wes Anderson films the cast is perfectly odd...Jason Schwartzman, plays Max, an intelligent manipulative student, who will stop at nothing to get the woman of his dreams. He plays the part with such conviction that even though he's too young you really want him to get with Miss Cross. Bill Murray plays Herman Blume. It's not goof ball humor like a lot of people would expect from Murray, and I think that's why he plays it so well. He really shines here as a lot of actors do when they play a different type of role. Olivia Williams plays the part of Rosmary Cross, a widowed teacher at Rushmore. She really nails the part, she's kind of a character that gets caught up in an odd situation even though she's done nothing to get into it, and can't seem to get out of it. A great cast, that does a great job.

One to Five Scale: 4.

It's a great off beat comedy with a great story that's full of memorable characters. Like Life Aquatic, it's kind of an acquired taste. You'll either love the humor or hate it...
