Review of Rushmore (1998) by Dann M — 21 Jun 2012
From acclaimed writer/director Wes Anderson comes the coming-of-age film Rushmore. Eccentric high school student Max Fischer falls for a teacher and ends up learning some hard lessons about love and life.
The film has a good cast that consists of Jason Schwartzman, Olivia Williams, and Bill Murray; who all give solid performances. And Wes Anderson does a good job at pacing the story and crafting the characters, but after a while the direction of the film becomes fairly obvious and the characters loss their charm.
Through Rushmore has an interesting brand of storytelling, it has some trouble staying on course.
