Review of Rushmore (1998) by Andrew L — 01 Sep 2013

Wes Anderson is one of those directors that you either love or hate. His style is very quirky and very kid-like. All of his movies in one way or another have a storybook feel to them, which is one way that makes his movies constantly watchable. I have noticed that the biggest turn off for people is the way how the dialogue/jokes are structured and the style of comedy and that is a shame because at the core of Wes Anderson's movies is something special but hard to explain. I personally can't see how Anderson's movies can't be enjoyed.

As for the acting, it is pretty good. Just about everyone in this movie are or still extremely popular today which helps this film age well, even though it isn't that old. Definitely worth it to watch.
