Review of Rushmore (1998) by Bob W — 04 Sep 2015
Wes Anderson's second film and a delightful tale about a slightly sociopathic schoolboy Max Fischer and his rivalry/friendship with multi-millionare Herman Blume (Bill Murray) as they compete for the hand of the beautiful Rosemary Cross (Olivia Williams).
In a sense both the guys end up maturing in different ways. Great script, performances and soundtrack, and some foretastes of Anderson's later eccentricities (and an apparent obsession with fish and Jacques Costeau).
