Review of Rushmore (1998) by Becca D — 14 Nov 2010
I have a feeling the more I discuss Rushmore, the further down my star rating will slide. It's amusing but never transcends amusing, despite the main character's superhumanly precocious antics. It's one of those quirky-but-not-weird, light-hearted-but-rarely-funny things that only the hipsterest of caucasians would have any desire to write and direct. At least Wes Anderson invented half-comedy anti-epic cinema, unlike his fucktard protegé Noah Baumbach.
P.S. The teacher lady is the wife in the Sixth Sense, and Dirk is Dennis the Menace, that's why you recognize them.
