Review of Rushmore (1998) by Rikki T — 01 Mar 2014
Really? How the heck do so many people like this? I was a teenage, upper middle-class boy once, and I was never as weird/boring or from such boring circumstances as portrayed in this move. This coming of age movie is just, well, quirky and dull.
That there's a John Lennon song in it doesn't save it. Oh yeah, I had a crush on my French teacher and slept with her at age 16, but she was a bit more fascinating than the gal in this movie. Of course, I grew up in Los Angeles, not the Midwest.
