Review of Rushmore (1998) by Bradley W — 17 Jul 2014
Rushmore is not only one of Wes Anderson best films, it marked the beginning of a very long and legendary career for a great filmmaker. Yes, Anderson directed Bottle Rocket before this and it wasvery good, but this creative masterwork put this director on the map.
Jason Schwartzman gives what might be his best and most important role to date, one that has stuck with us through the years. Bill Murray also lands an awesome performance that would be the first of many between the dynamic duo of Anderson/Murray.
This quirky, touching, and hilarious film is truly a sight to appreciate. I really, really love Rushmore.
