Review of Rush Hour 2 (2001) by Octavio M — 08 Feb 2010
As far as I'm concerned, this film, oddly enough, qualifies on two levels: the qualifies as a near-great action film and as a guilty pleasure. Critically, I think the entire plot was a piece of contrived bullshit, but it reaches a level that it is believable enough for me to enjoy.
For Jackie Chan, this film is representation that he had reached his zenith on his American popularity. To be frank, the fighting scenes in this film were not even that good.
What made this film a near-classic was the score by legendary Argentinean composer Lalo Schiffrin of "Dirty Harry" and "Enter the Dragon" fame. Each number seems to flow seamlessly with the action.
