Review of Rush Hour 2 (2001) by Deb S — 08 Feb 2010
Jackie Chan (Lee) and Chris Tucker (Carter) reprise their roles as the two mismatched partners, who are now vacationing in Hong Kong in this hilarious sequel. Carter is looking forward to a relaxing vacation from police work, but Lee is always on duty and when there is a bombing on the U.S. embassy by triads, both are called upon.
Jackie Chan uses his keen Martial Arts to make his part action packed but the comedy still belongs to Chris Tucker. It always cracks me up to hear Chris Tucker funny high voice and fast mouth. I especially enjoyed the opening scene where Chris Tucker does an amazing Michael Jackson (RIP) imitation; it was brilliant and I enjoyed the fights between him and Zhang ZiYi in the large room. Ziyi Zhang continues to impress here as she did in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," both with her martial arts and acting skills, she was menacing as the evil Hu Li and special mention must be given to Roselyn Sanchez who sizzles as Isabella.
