Review of Rush Hour 2 (2001) by Dann M — 21 Feb 2014
Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan are back for more buddy-cop shenanigans in Rush Hour 2. While vacationing in Hong Kong with Insp. Lee, Det. Carter gets caught up in a Triad counterfeiting operation. Unfortunately the comedy isn't as sharp this time, as Tucker's constant jokiness and overacting becomes kind of annoying and takes away from the intensity of the action.
However, Ziyi Zhang brings a lot of charisma to the film and makes for an intriguing and mysterious villain. And as always, Chan comes through with a number of dynamic and exiting fight sequences. Rush Hour 2 is a bit of a generic sequel, but it's still entertaining and fun.
