(1998) Rush Hour.
ACTION/ COMEDY.
Entertaining Jackie Chan/ Chris Tucker vehicle which deals with a top Chinese criminal escaping to the United States. Locating him to escape to LA of all places, sergent assigns LA cop Tucker to escort Chinese cop Chan into capturing him before bringing him back to Hong Kong to be properly charge! Twists and turns occur!
Improvise director Brett Ratner did a nice mix of mixing Chan's charisma with Tuckers comedic touches with brief action sequences and a little 'free running' from Chan, despite his age but're well staged and choreographed. The end out takes especially Chans mishaps are some of the best highlights. The success of this film motivated two more sequels!
3 out of 4.
