Review of Rush Hour (1941) by Azrael C — 27 Jun 2012
Brett Ratner brings the trademark of the buddy-cop spoof genre-Rush Hour starring the third Asian master of martial arts next to Jet Li and Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan and the loudmouth African-American, Chris Tucker from Friday.
The story is about Hong-Kong supercop Chief Inspector Lee (Chan) is sent to America where lone-working obnoxious Detective James Carter (Tucker) has just got his promotion as an FBI from the LAPD and as they meet for the first time, they discover one thing in common- they can't stand each other.
With time running out, they much train each other and teach other their abilities to save a young 11-year old girl named Soo Yung who has been abducted by an international criminal mastermind. Hugely action-packed, totally funny, managing to get all their pop culture references and product placements in all at the same time, Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan are a perfect duo and due to this, they have made two more sequels.
I've heard that Tucker lost his $6 million house but has successfully comeback to stand-up comedy. Well done Tucker! Rush Hour gets a easy 10/10.
