Review of Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage (2010) by Kevin H — 02 Jul 2010
Impressively comprehensive without being stuffy, Beyond the Lighted Stage achieves the perfect balance between overview and anecdote, thriving on the band's extensive interviews and "goofy", eclectic humour and insight (as well as some judiciously used Jack Black).
Not only does the viewer feel they know all there is to know about the band, but also like they've enjoyed an amiable hangout with them. A masterclass of documentary of filmmaking even for those with no interest in the band, and essential viewing for any fans!
