Review of Rush (2013) by Josh J — 05 Jun 2014
Ron Howard has made a very entertaining sports drama about two formula 1 drivers obsessed with taking the other one down. A nice break from the hammer and cape for Chris Hemsworth who does a fantastic job as James Hunt the handsome English playboy who basically drives to be the best.
James is obsessed with defeating anyone who stands in his way and while that can be a very useful method other times it can lead to a person's undoing. Like I said Chris Hemsworth stars in this entertaining rivalry against Niki Lauda (Daniel Bruhl).
But even with Hemsworth as the cocky hunt, for me it's Daniel Bruhl who gives the better performance as Niki Lauda it's very strong and powerful, who even though loses to hunt, eventually Lauda cements his legacy by being better driver overall after Hunt's death.
Based on a true story Rush is exhilarating drama that keeps going in to high gear.
