Review of Rush (2013) by Reinaldo T — 21 Mar 2015
In a pre-wide release of Rush it was pretty amazing making it a predictable contender for the awards season. With an amazing performance by Hemsworth and more notably Bruhl. A sports movie has never looked so good.
The film follows James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth)and Niki Lauda (David Bruhl) in the sports rivalry of the decade. Enemies since their days at Formula Three they have now gotten their way to Formula One, the biggest racing competition in the world. The two have been going back and forth until Lauda got into a tragic crash. With three degree burns people wonder if he'll get back into the race. And he did.
Rush is the best movie I have watched this year. With strong performances and an coat worthy script and director this movie is sure worthy of a Best Picture nominee. Wow there are so many ways this movie is amazing. There is heart there is action and it has the perfect mix of heart rushing races and serious diapause. It has very few problems.
And wow Rush gave me one hell of a ride.
Ron Howard and Peter Morgan have created a masterpiece.
Rating: 8.2 (A-).
