Review of Running with Scissors (2006) by James T — 29 Mar 2009
I like my quirky films, but this one was just a bit too intense to be hugely enjoyable. Billed as a black comedy, the laughs are actually few and far between - although, in fairness, when they do arrive, they did make me chuckle.
The strong cast perform well - particularly Bening and Cox - but in trying to be both powerful and humorous, I can't help but feel that this movie fell slightly short of reaching its true potential.
