Review of Running with Scissors (2006) by Ivan A — 13 Aug 2009
Interesting and odd film. There is a fantastic cast of talented actors here. Brian Cox as the Therapist, Dr. Finch and Annette Bening shine here along with the main character Augustin (Joseph Cross). It's funny because I knew what to expect sort of, but my expectations were further realized when my image of this dysfunctional family, and child's laugh was so over the top I didn't believe it to be real.
I am sure the true story is fictionalized a bit, but it really is an incredible insight into this child's life, which everyone can relate to on some type of level.
