Review of Running on Empty (1991) by Haley S — 24 Jul 2007
The one movie that actually brings tears to my eyes every time I watch it. I saw it when I was roughly five and it didn't mean much to me, I saw it again when I was 17 and couldn't believe the similarities between the film and the world around me.
"Running on Empty" isn't just a good movie. It's so good in fact that the MPAA changed the rating from R to PG-13 because they felt it was such an important film to the world. This does not happen everyday.
With characters that you get easily attached to, an almost tragic plot, and a tear-jerking climax, that you see looming on the horizon, this movie should be viewed by everyone young and old. It's about growing up.
