Review of Running on Empty (1982) by Daniel T — 14 Oct 2007
Not exactly my cup of tea, but still a good drama about a family wanted by the FBI so is forced to run from place to place and change their names. Christine Lahti and Judd Hirsch were fantastic. As was Martha Plimpton.
But River Phoenix blows everyone out of the water as Danny, a talented musician and the oldest son of the family. He plays the role to the highest degree, and his performance was very moving. Its movies like this that make his death even more tragic.
R.I.P River Phoenix.
