Review of Runner Runner (2013) by Clem K — 08 Jan 2014
Runner Runner - co-produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and directed by Brad Furman. Starring Justin Timberlake, Ben Affleck and Gemma Arterton. It was filmed in Puerto Rico.
After being cheated on online casino-gambling, Princeton University fella heads to Puerto Rico to complain in person to owner Ben Affleck, bringing along with him proof of being cheated. In Puerto Rico is, instead given job that is livin' la vida loca (Ricky Martin: live life dangerously).
Purposeless movie, waste of good cast, and I am just pissed at wasting of beautiful Gemma Arterton (but I always believe, the actors have earn to live on). Runner Runner is another disaster like Paranoia (Chris Hemsworth - Gary Oldman - Harrison Ford - Amber Heard) - which took on Chris as newbie mobile-app inventor, planted by Gary inside booming mobile company of Harrison Ford, to steal prototype of to-be launched new mobile, while FBI pursues Chris to work for them.
I have been of the opinion that movies based on technology, won't be big hit, no matter how charming actors, with boyish approach to digital world, they possess - for because technology is rapidly progressing. People have been used to new innovations.
