Review of Runner Runner (2013) by Emily Y — 16 Feb 2014
While I do enjoy Justin, Ben, Anthony, and even Gemma, the best part of this movie was "The House" (Ben's enormous yacht). I wouldn't mine having that baby. I really wanted to like this film as it looked flashy and fun despite lacking an original story.
The pace does well to stay fast throughout the film but the pace doesn't make up for the lack of intensity or suspense I was waiting for. Side plots are superficially dangled yet not explored which makes for an incomplete feeling movie.
The decent acting, intriguing landscape, and allure of online gambling isn't enough to recommend this flick. Better luck next time Brad Furman.
