Review of Runaway Train (1985) by John E — 11 Oct 2010
What begins as a solid premise for a convict on the run action flick, turns quickly into an example of bad writing and over acting. At one point near the climax of the movie, as the two hard-headed convicts fight each other for their freedom aboard the out of control speeding train, Rebecca De Mornay shows up and calls one of them "mean".
Runaway Train seems to gather a lot of steam and then abruptly derails under the weight of its melodramatic script.
