Review of Run Lola Run (1998) by Joe K — 23 Oct 2010
Before Angelina Jolie became an action star; before Bourne upped the kinetic ante on action movies; before alternative timelines became more mainstream--this movie probably had more impact.
Very well directed offbeat action (including a great female lead), never losing the real human drama tension and intention, and plays with the effect of happenstance on the results.
Not at all the three-act structure I look to take apart--it felt more like an extended, though well done, experiment.
