Review of Run All Night (2015) by Carlos I — 30 Jun 2015
Run All Night is directed by the same director who presented Unknown and Non-Stop. Compared to the two movies, it does feel similar but lacks a bit of the novelty.
This doesn't mean that the movie is bad, it is way better than the Taken sequels and Run All Night has one of the better acting by Liam Neeson. On the cinematography, there are some pretty cool techniques. There's a kind that used several time in the movie which the camera zooms in and out into different scenes just like the presentation we see on Google Map which I find it refreshing. Other than that, as you can tell from the title, 80% of the movie happened at night, so I don't blame for having a so-so visual.
Though the plot sounds a bit confusing but it works just fine. You don't need a lot of brain power watching this and you could actually enjoy the father-son relationship, thought the chemistry isn't the best.
As like his other movies, Run All Night presents you the finest performance by Liam Neeson and has some cool elements throughout the movie even thought it's not his best movie. This is definitely fun to watch for a friday movie night and recommend everyone watching.
