Review of Run All Night (2015) by Ameen K — 25 Mar 2015
I finally got a chance to get to see Run All Night, a Liam Neeson action movie that I was really looking forward to. I have to say, I was a little disappointed. Let me get this straight, Liam Neeson and Ed Harris carry this movie, unfortunately, Ed Harris was underused. I loved every scene with him and Neeson. The action scenes are pretty good, I liked the hand to hand combat Liam Neeson is known for. The problem with this movie was that it was way to slow. It was like a hill, it goes up and down. This always happens, it gets really exciting then it's followed by a slow scene, then it gets exciting and intense again, then it gets very slow after. It can't keep a consistent pace. I will say that this is Liam Neeson's better films. I felt that some scenes had a bit shaky cam but not to the point that it became a big problem. I also felt like we have seen Neeson being an alcoholic and it's growing old. We saw it in The Grey, Non Stop, and now this. This is an ok movie, rent it. I wanted to love this movie but it let me down.
Run all Night: 3/5 stars.
