Review of Rumble in the Bronx (1995) by Anthony W — 27 Aug 2007
Keong (Jackie Chan) visits New York to help out his uncle (Bill Tung), who is selling his supermarket to buyer Elena (Anita Mui). However, the shop comes under attack from a local gang, and Keong unleashes his martial arts on them.
However, not even Keong can put them off. And just how did the FBI get involved? Not Jackie's greatest film, and some of the set-pieces really are a bit too much of a suspension of disbelief even for a Chan film, but it's endearing no-brainer fun.
and most importantly it's the film that finally allowed Jackie to crack the American market following his four failed attempts in the 1980s.
