Review of Rumble in the Bronx (1995) by Andreas O — 04 Jun 2010
Man, is this a fun film. Does the plot make sense? No, it's not the greatest. Is the dialogue and acting solid? Not by a long shot. Is the movie full of innovative, hard hitting action? Yes. Does Jackie Chan's charm make up for the rest? Pretty much.
This movie reminds me a lot of Bruce Lee's "Way of the Dragon", with some similar plot points and with the bad dubbing. But just like with Bruce, this is overcome with Jackie's tremendous talent and more than a fair share of charm.
Plus, you've got to love that he did part of the film with a broken leg, which he received during filming. Overall, it's pretty awesome.
