Review of Rumble Fish (1983) by David H — 13 Apr 2008
Rourke is very watchable. Coppola constructs the film like a play and I'm undecided as to whether this works. Some of the dialogue feels a bit wooden and Dillon's performance is unrefined. Found myself bored in parts.
On the upside, some nice visuals and a strong cast help a decent, yet nowhere near full-strength effort from Coppola. The ending is suitably emotional and works well too.
