Review of Rumble Fish (1983) by Thomas K — 26 Mar 2014
Coppola calls it "an art film for kids" and it turned out that kids didn't really have any use for art films. The same kids who made Coppola's THE OUTSIDERS a hit the year before avoided it like the proverbial plague and adults wouldn't be caught dead at what was still, at it's heart, a kid's film.
Nobody got what they wanted and RUMBLE FISH flopped like a big old dog on the front porch.
