Review of Rugrats in Paris: The Movie (2000) by Steven Y — 27 Mar 2009
The Rugrats travel to Paris where Stu will work on his Reptar related inventions for a Reptar themed theme park, the babies meet Kimi( the newly added Rugrats member), and Chuckie's father Chazz looks for love but doesn't quite get the attention of the type of female that would be ideal to Chuckie's mind of a perfect mother. This woman would be Coco LaBouche( played well by Susan Sarandon), a very cranky business woman to needs to impress her boss so she'll get a promotion, since this is a "Family" business.
I enjoyed this movie more than the first Rugrats film, and didn't mind seeing it more on VHS than I did with the first for that matter. Though it does help the decline of the Rugrats franchise it does give the character of Chuckie his much needed development and makes him into a stronger character, that I liked a lot.
Like the first, it's no classic, but it's enjoyable nonetheless.
