Review of Rugrats Go Wild (2003) by John C — 08 Feb 2004
The third installment of the Rugrats films was, in general, amusing but the potty-mouth humor was not something that young kids should be subjected to. The movie follows the Rugrats crowd as they get shipwrecked on a deserted island with the Wild Thornberrys. Mayhem insues. Some of the humor is rather "adult" in that it relies on references to pop culture that most kids wouldn't understand. Its not nearly as humorous or socially relevant as the Simpsons but it did generate a few chuckles.
Parents should be warned that, like past Rugrats films, the humor in this movie is way to foul-mouthed for kids under 8. As a parent of a 5 year-old I was not too excited about him repeating many of the jokes that he heard in the movie. I learned my leason.
