Rudy is one of those movies that in some ways defines my life. But it also represents fulfilled dreams. There are many things I've been so passionate about for most of my life, but despite my efforts have never materialized.

Some include qualifying for the Boston Marathon, getting married, finding a successful career in film, and attending a university that I love. When I was growing up, I was a big Michigan State fan from an early age.

I actually got into the university when I applied, but decided for the career I wanted to pursue that it wasn't the best path. I still wish the cards were right for me to go back and do this, but they just haven't been.

For others such as running Boston, I've run every single day for almost 9 years, run hundreds of road races, and over 20 marathons in my efforts. And career aspirations, wife, etc. have yet to pan out despite my stick-to-itiveness for over a decade.

Rudy represents all of these for me. I think the college connection and qualifying for Boston maybe the most of them. It still moves me to tears when Rudy finally is accepted to Notre Dame and when he gets into the game and gets a tackle at the end.

Some of this emotion has a lot to do with Jerry Goldsmiths amazing score for the film. I think Rudy was a little bit of a sleeper when it came out in 1993, but has since gained a lot of popularity. It remains for absolutely sure and I think will always remain my favorite sports movie by far.

But the way it represents my aspirations and dreams gets to me every single time.
