Review of Rudy (1993) by Brandon M — 07 Feb 2009
In a league with Brian's Song, this story of a determined young man is powerful. Rudy is not the typical football built fellow on the outside but his inside brawn and love of the game empowers others to give him the chance to play only after very hard work.
When he does, Rudy finds that the challenge of his smaller size on the field is even more than he has been warned. Still he pushes on and becomes a hero for the Notre Dame team if not on the field in something greater-life.
A true story of a person who lived to tell of conquering all the odds. A film thoroughly directed and produce and acted. Astin is triumphant. The era is well depicted. You may cry but you will feel victoriuos.
Rudy has won; he is LARGER than most in life!
