Review of Ruby Sparks (2012) by Derek M — 29 Nov 2012

While I'm not crazy about the film's whimsical and happy-go-lucky conclusion, everything leading up to that was quite good. This not-so-typical rom-com written by Zoe Kazan, who plays the title character who is manifested into reality by the power of Calvin's (played by Dano) imagination.

Even with it's light hearted premise, it takes a darkly honest and intellectual approach to make a statement about relationships and the way we fight for control. This unique little indie has a superb cast and something to offer.
