Review of Ruby Sparks (2012) by Rukmal F — 24 Jan 2013
Sometimes a movie that doesn't make sense and that does nothing to do with you whatsoever can prove an emotional rollercoaster, a pleasantly surprising one to be exact. Ruby Sparks was without a doubt one of those, hooking me into it right from the moment the film began.
There were definitely no shortage of surprises; I just couldn't tell every minute how it's gonna go, what's gonna happen, how all of these going to be wrapped up. It could've turned out to be one giant mess, with the ridiculousness of the-girl-of-the-writer's-dreams-then-put-to-written-words-come-to-life and all, but it did not and it made me heavily invested and it also made me feel like somehow this is believable, believe it or not.
In summary, it was really really really a great film, a perfect marriage of great performance and well.. everything else I guess.
