Review of Ruby Sparks (2012) by Darien S — 11 Feb 2014
Embracing the manic pixie dream girl trope and also ripping off a play I saw two weeks before, this film doesn't explore how profoundly creepy and pathetic Paul Dano's character is for wanting to create his own woman.
It touches on it briefly and almost saves itself but then the end of the movie ruins the exploration.
