Review of Rubber (2010) by Ricardo A — 23 Jul 2011
The trailer gave me high hopes for this movie. It could've been a great over-the-top movie in the style of From Dusk Til Dawn. Instead, it took a very pretentious, too-cool-for-the-room approach and was not all that entertaining.
The only thing that kept us going was trying to see if they could salvage it or if there would be a satisfying payoff. It didn't. At best it's an exercise in non-traditional film but not one really worth wasting your time unless you have nothing new to watch or something you can rewatch that is entertaining.
You want a good example of non-traditional film done right? Waking Life.
