Review of Rubber (2010) by David B — 19 Oct 2013
Audicious and wonderfully offbeat ... it's a fun one to talk about -- if only for the opportunity to shake your head in amused disbelief at what you just saw. This will truly be one of the weirdest I'll ever see.
I think it's problem though was what genre this film should be put it, it's more comedy than a horror and one you shouldn't take seriously, I mean...it's about a killer Tire, that's it but a really funny one.
Neat cheap special effects that work really well and better acting than I thought, though sometimes lazy. The opening scene does actually explain a lot saying "There's no actual reason for this movie", in which one of the lead characters uses examples from other films.
I'm glad I watched this and better than some indie films. Worth a look actually, although this won't be everyone's cup of tea. A truly odd yet funny film.
