Review of RPG Metanoia (2010) by Dominique N — 31 Jan 2011
One of the few Filipino films that made me proud! The movie has guts. The best in the festival. Though it fails portray a realistic approach at a online gaming world, it succeeds in bringing out the psychology of the game.
The story is rich as well as the visuals. VERY PINOY! From the food, to the outdoor games and even the Vigan-inspired exterior of one the places in Metanoia. Though the animation stutters sometimes, it's action scenes are excellently directed and shot backed by thrilling and well-composed music.
The music are as I said, well-composed and really suitable in every scene as well as the sound engineering. The voicework are great all in all. Professional critics are right. This film can topple even the best of Pixar and many other big-budgeted animated film of the first-world countries.
KUDOS to the filmmakers and the producers behind this film. If our country can sustain producing this kinds of films, I think there is still a big hope for our film industry!c:
