Funny, but not hilarious. well-adapted and well-written by Martin, but I think it lacks heart. I never got the impression anyone was really in love with anybody--there were just a lot of pretty words and and a lot of schtick.
the bar scene was pretty good, and Steve Martin's character has a very smooth nonchalance that plays really well. not a bad romantic comedy overall, I just wish the romance was more believable.
