Review of Roxanne (1987) by Lee B — 09 Feb 2010
This was a little, quiet 80s comedy that was pretty good and I don?t know why it was so easily forgotten. It was a light comedy that blended a lot of elements of smart, slapstick and situational comedy and it worked. I only got to see the last third of this movie, but I had even forgotten about it until I saw it on TV.
Steve Martin was perfect and Daryl Hannah was really good in her role. It?s funny to see her in this role after seeing her in Kill Bill. Rick Ross-something was a good lunkhead, but that may be Ice Cube playing Doughboy evaluation. It?s a romcom that was subtle and worked, which is probably why it was forgotten.
